  • Prioritization of construction projects

An approach is proposed to determine the preference of a construction object in planning the order of construction of objects of a production program of a construction organization. Priority is given to objects that have priorities over others, in this case, we can talk about the application of the priority rule, by means of which the order of construction is ordered. Each building object has a number of features, from which one can be judged its preference over other objects. Many preference signs seem like a matrix in which the column is a class, the string is a subclass of attributes. The feature class reflects the aggregate properties of the object, the subclass is the distinguishing characteristics of the characteristic within the class. A set of attributes on one of each class constitute a priority group. Priority groups are ranked to order their list. The proposed methodology was tested with the involvement of expert students who complete their studies at the University. Priority of construction of cottages of three kinds was determined. The results of the research formed the basis for recommendations to construction organizations that conduct individual housing construction.

  • Evaluation of Preferences of Construction Products Consumers

We propose an approach to the evaluation of consumer preferences in construction products. This evaluation will enable us to make strategic decisions – what kind of products and how much of them to produce, and at what price to sell them. To study the preferences of construction products consumers, we recommend to use a method based on the using matrix models. To identify the preferences of construction products consumers, they are given a matrix (a table) that includes the names of the product parameters, the parameters characteristics, their pricing coefficients and sampling rates. In the matrix, the consumers choose and underline one of the characteristics options for each parameter, taking into account the pricing coefficient. After collecting the processed matrices, the most preferable product parameters are determined. The proposed method was tested at conducting marketing researches among potential users of construction products - senior students of Rostov State University of Civil Engineering. The research results formed the basis for recommendations to construction companies dealing with individual housing construction (cottages).
