The article considers one of the main systems that ensure the safety of workers and passers – by in a dangerous zone-the protective-catching grid. The types of grid systems, basic principles of their operation, and technical characteristics are described. The requirements for the installation and operation of such systems are considered.

The article discusses several equivalent circuits constructed by sequentially connecting circuits for the membrane and protoplasm. The solution was made using the Cardano formula for cubic equations. The roots in the expression for the determination of resonant frequencies determined the resonant frequencies for the given parameters for the membrane and intercellular fluid; to obtain numerical values, values were used within several permissible limits. In the course of the calculations, it was confirmed that most resonant frequencies are in the millimeter and submillimeter ranges. It is also shown that the cell vibration frequencies occupy the decimeter, centimeter, millimeter and submillimeter wavelengths. Obviously, it is the impact on biological systems of electromagnetic radiation in the indicated wavelength ranges that will be most effective and can lead to a maximum biological response (effect).

This work is carried out as part of the study of the frame-rod structure with elements of thin-walled profiles. The results of a numerical study of a three-bolt connection of a thin-walled galvanized plate 1.5 mm thick with a plate of 3 mm thick on adjustable voltage bolts are presented. The calculation models are created by volume elements in Ansys software taking into account the strength properties of materials.

The article studies the subject of human settlements with decentralized power supply, included into a locally isolated power supply complex. The basic integrated measures were determined for settlements power lines daily load curves. The results are presented, for dependency assessment between the integrated measures for daily load curves and the number of the settlement’s inhabitants. The dependency has been proven to be effectively described by a second order equation. For the dependency, the correlation coefficient, the determination coefficient and the average approximation error have been given.

This study investigates possibilities for identifying additional deposits of polymetallic ores based on geophysical studies that use ground-penetrating radar (georadar). Such studies can render a deposit significantly more attractive from an economic standpoint. Experimental methodological work was carried out to compare the geological data of preliminary exploration and georadar exploration with GROT 12 georadars.

This article presents the results which purpose of cases of intentional distortion of "objective" ratings based on individual indicators. The aim of the study was to build an algorithm for determining unfairly placed places in the ranking as a result of manual adjustment. The main tool is the identification of the weight coefficients of private ratings with a known form of the functional dependence of the overall rating. The analysis of techniques of creation of one of popular Russian ratings was for this purpose carried out, mathematical models of dependence of the general rating of higher education institution on its private ratings are received. It was revealed the presence of subjectivity in the construction of the rating, which manifests itself in the form of an unfair score. Standard methods do not allow to reveal such non-random "emissions" and do not provide an objective assessment. The offered algorithm allows to find such "emissions", to exclude them from selection and define fair values. The offered algorithm can be useful for heads of universities to check the correctness of the occupied place in the ranking of their organization and understanding of their real position among other universities.
